The Dark Side...?
Many of you have heard me speak of the Evil entrenched in City Hall; statements such as these tend to be of a more humorous aspect, than based in reality. Although, there are times when I really do wonder about what's going on in our fair City.
Every once in a while, it's possible to catch a glimpse of the dark under-belly of the beast. It really reminds me of the quintessential pomo film extraordinaire, Blue Velvet.
I haven't seen Mayor Brennan running around whiffing Nitrous, or Mr. Cole getting jiggy with any fabric samples, but I did notice something recently. A subtle change that has gone somewhat unnoticed.
Take a look at the two photos shown below. The first one was taken a few years ago, before all the nefarious activities started happening in our town. The second one was taken last week....
City Hall Cloaked in Darkness
Well, what do you think...?

Mr. Hole getting jiggy with some fabric samples, you say? ROFL!
Once again, appearances first. That Mayor Brennan does look like a fine strapping lad. Rough and ready for anything, that boy!
I think I dig the Blue Velvet ref--I remember you mentioning this before. In sunny CA, everything looks so clean and shining and pure; everyone smiling and saying have a nice day; the supernaturally green lawns with the soothing whoosh of the sprinklers gently moving too and fro. But behind closed doors--unspeakable horrors!
Yes, the two pictures are quite a shocking contrast. Are they just refacing the building, or having satanic masses in there? In any case, q'uelle symbolique! Even the statue in front looks dark; demonic; a menacing, shadowy thing. Reminds me of the statue they unearthed in Cairo in the Exorcist.
Yes, very disturbing indeed.
Yes, yes, I see it!! The palm tree on the left creates a face of pure evil and the one on the right evil ready to spring atcha.
In this case, I should say, "Evil is in the eye of the beholder."
